To have someone as a part of our team to build positive relationships with parents, to provide resources for our families, to bring community partners into the school, to assess the needs of our scholars and families, and then develop supports to aid those needs, as well as to create fun initiatives that motivate our scholars to come to school, is a huge relief and a big need. I think all schools should have a CIS of Memphis student support specialist, but you cannot have mine!
